Ongoing Projects:

1.Project “Initiative for Inclusion” (incentives for employment of returnees at the local level)

The Memorandum of Cooperation for the project “Initiative for Inclusion” between the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, National Employment Service and German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) was signed on 19 March 2018.

The value of the project is EUR 1,800,000. 

 

The aim of the Project is to create a foundation for the realisation of innovative local ideas for employment of returnees – asylum seekers, potential asylum seekers, Roma and other marginalised and vulnerable social groups, as well as the exchange of experience and examples of good practice which will be derived from implementation of concrete projects in seven selected towns and municipalities: Požarevac, Arilje, Sokobanja, Kučevo, Novi Pazar, Bečej and Belgrade municipality of Mladenovac, and their neighbouring towns and municipalities, if applicable.

The timeframe for the cooperation is until 30 April 2019.

 

2.Project “Counselling on Migration in Serbia - German Information Centre for Migration, Training and Career (DIMAK) – “Migration for Development”

 

The Agreement on implementation of technical support for the project “Counselling on Migration in Serbia - German Information Centre for Migration, Training and Career (DIMAK)” between the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, National Employment Service and German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) was signed on 9 November 2016.

 

The overall objective of the Project is to strengthen the development of the migrants’ countries of origin, as well as to advance the development-related contribution of migrants in their countries of origin, improve the framework conditions for legal migration in certain partner countries, provide information to potential migrants on perspectives and possibilities for legal labour migration, on professional education and career opportunities – both in Germany and Serbia.

This objective is realised within five areas of activity:

  1. Migration policy advice,
  2. Migration advice,
  3. Development-oriented migrant returns-transfer of knowledge through returning experts to the country of origin,
  4. Cooperation with diaspora (organisations of migrants and experts in diaspora),
  5. Business ideas for development.

The timeframe for the cooperation is until 31 October 2019.


 

In Preparation:

1. Project “Social Services for Vulnerable Groups”

 

The project proposal “Social Welfare Services for Vulnerable Groups” was approved by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The Project aims to strengthen the development of social welfare institutions at local level in order to improve social services to vulnerable groups, advance the process of relevant data collection and supervision of social services for vulnerable groups at local and national levels, and in order to strengthen the coordination between relevant stakeholders, and between stakeholders and vulnerable groups.

According to the project proposal, 12 municipalities will be selected for support in strengthening social welfare services.

The value of the project is EUR 3,000,000. 

The timeframe for the cooperation is until 31 December 2020.
