Payment of scholarships for a period may-june

Payment of scholarships for 1,000 secondary school pupils from financially handicapped families shall begin on Wednesday 15 July 2009. Secondary school pupils shall be paid two last scholarships in this school year – for May and June.

Mr. Martinović and the representatives of the municipality of Paraćin signed the agreement on adding a buliding for daily stay of handicapped children

Mr.Martinović, Government Secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the representatives of the municipality of Paraćin signed the Agreement on adding a building for daily stay of handicapped children on Friday 10 July 2009.

Ministry of Labour and Social Policy provided funds for adding this building from the National Investment Plan to the amount of 2,186,100 dinars. Lounge shall have a seating capacity of 45 persons and it is planned that works shall be completed by the end of this year.

Government secretary Mr.Martinović also looked up the works on construction of a project for daily stay of handicapped children.

Event on Ada postponed

Cultural and sport event on Ada called “OSI AND FRIENDS ON ADA, MOVING TOWARDS UNIVERSIADE” which should have been opened by Mr. Rasim Ljajić, Minister of Labour and Social Policy on Friday 26 June at eleven o’clock on Ada Ciganlija was postponed due to bad weather conditions.

Economic Crisis Burden Should be Equally Distributed Among all Social Classes

State Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy Snežana Lakićević-Stojačić has stressed in her address to the participants of 98th International Labour Conference (ILO) in Geneva, that the burden of economic crisis should be equally distributed among all social classes.Also, she has said that measures designed to alleviate economic crisis consequences should be based on complied with ILO fundamental principles, namely universal social welfare, social dialogue, adequate working conditions, etc. Presenting the crisis alleviation plan of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, she has mentioned that savings in the state budget have been envisaged as well as reductions in state administration expenditures in the amount ...

Delegation of the Republic of Serbia led by State Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy Snežana Lakićević-Stojačić will take part in the 98th International Labour Conference to be held from 3rd to 19th June in Geneva. Ljajić Meets with Svetlik

The initial Serbian – Slovenian negotiations on the Social Insurance Agreements are scheduled for 12 May 2009 in Ljubljana – that is the result of today’s meeting of Minister of Labour and Social Policy Rasi2009-05-19m Ljajić and Slovenian Minister of Labour, Family and Social Affairs Ivan Svetlik.

During the talks, both parties expressed mutual redness for acceleration of the negotiations, which should result in two rounds of negotiations on social insurance agreement, after which it would be initialled.

The signature should follow in the fall, thus fulfilling preconditions for pension benefits for over 10.000 beneficiaries to be disbursed, as well as for exercise of other social security entitlements.

Minister Ljajić Paid Tribute to Children Killed in the NATO Air-Raids

Belgrade – On 24 March 2009, at noon, Rasim Ljajić, Minister of Labour and Social Policy  led a commemorative gathering and ceremony of laying down wreaths on the Monument to children killed in the NATO shelling erected in the “Tašmajdan“ park in Belgrade.  From 24th March to 10th June 1999 in the NATO attacks on our country, 89 children lost their lives.Apart from Minister of Labour and Social Policy Rasim Ljajić, the commemoration gathering was attended by the high-level officials of the Serbian Army, H.E. Public Debate on the Volunteer Service Draft Law

The Ministry of Labour and Social Policy opens the public debate on the Volunteer Service Draft Law. It is open for all interested in the volunteer services such as public authorities, employers' associations, trade unions, NGOs, etc.

Presentation and discussions, debates, on the working version of the Draft Law will be organized as round tables in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kragujevac and other cities across Serbia.

Ministry of Labour and Social Policy has submitted its Progress Report for the period from 7 July 2008 to 20 February 2009 to the President of Serbia Boris Tadić and President of the Government Mirko Cvetkovic. The Report contains information and data on development of the legal framework, outcomes of the regular and project activities and of law implementation. It will be accessible to the public at the official site of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy (www.minrzs.gov.rs).

Ljajić Meets British IInter-Parliamentary Union Delegation

Minister of Labour and Social Policy Rasim Ljajić has met today with the British Inter-Parliamentary Union delegation to discuss actions taken by Serbia to alleviate effects of the global economic crisis, as well as other concerns hampering Serbia's progress towards European Union.

Minister Ljajić informed the delegation that the Government of Serbia had prepared set of economic measures to counterbalance the impact of the economic crisis, adding that the line Ministry had in cooperation with other state agencies and expert community been finalizing set of measures for those categories of population in Serbia in most vulnerable position.

"SOLIDARITY" Action to Start on Friday

Ministry of Labour and Social Policy will launch the action to visit all municipalities in Serbia with view to take stock of and map key issues falling within its responsibility. For the first time a database will be designed on the basis of the two-month visits to the municipalities and gathered information which will lend itself to creation of clear and sound social image of  municipalities across Serbia. Seeking to confront the challenges in the field of labour and social policy, the Ministry will actively influence unfavorable effects of the crisis, simultaneously offering assistance to most vulnerable groups.

Snežana Lakićević-Stojačić at 8th ILO Regional Meeting

In her address at the 8th ILO Regional  Meeting organized from 9th to 13th February in Lisbon, State Secretary of the Minsitry of Labour and Social Policy Snežana Lakićević-Stojačić stressed that Serbia is committed to further intensive cooperation of the national and ILO institutions.She said that this cooperation contributes to implementation of necessary reforms in the sphere of labour and social legislation as well as sustainable promotion of tripartite social dialogue.

Disbursement of statutory disability benefits for disabled veterans and beneficiaries of family disability benefit

Disbursement of statutory disability benefits for disabled veterans and beneficiaries of family disability benefit for December 2008 starts on Wednesday 21 January for the beneficiaries who receive the benefit via current 14:23:54. For those who receive the benefit to home address, the disbursement will start on Thursday 22 January 2009.
